Digital camera or digicam, as the young generation calls it, has become an essential part of our lives. These days everybody is using digital cameras. With the advancement in technology everyday a new product is being launched in the market. Going top at the charts these days is the Canon EOS 1-D mark III. With a 10 frame per second speed and a 3inch LCD movie like screen put a lot of other top brand cameras to shame. This 10 mega pixel camera has a great picture quality and captures such details of the scene that you will be amazed. Auto focus of this design is not that worth mentioning. It has a nice slope shouldered curving design providing a comfortable grip. The best part is that while designing the camera they have actually thought of minute details like where you will put your hand, where your finger will move after pressing the click button. In short, it is a camera with amazing picture quality result and that too with no compromise on the comfort of the photographer.

Nikon was once taken very lightly in the digital camera industry but not any more. The 12.3 mega pixel is a fine upgrade to its predecessor D200 with greater resolution on a newer CMOS sensor which takes control of noise control to a great extent. The auto focus system is the fastest we have seen around.  It is not exactly the perfect camera but a very close competition.

Sony although a great name in the world of cameras has been a little less successful in going head to head with Canon and Nikon in the world of digital cameras. The A900 was the best effort the big brains at Sony could come up with to compete the market bullies. Although it offers a really superb optical viewfinder with nearly 100% coverage, dual processors and in camera image stabilization still we can notably find a few features lacking. The live view and the built in flash are some feature with whose absence one can live with but a few problems with the color accuracy of the picture have also been observed by a few keen observer. This is something which brings Sony a little down in the digital camera ratings.

The market definitely has a lot to offer but what will suit you is something that only you can figure out by pondering over your needs and requirements.
